When you come to counselling, you may want to prepare in advance about the things you wish to discuss or even what subjects you want to avoid, however many people find what they have prepared is generally not what they speak about. Together we can explore your beliefs and ideas but with an open mind as feelings and memories may come up and be different to what you were expecting. There may even be burdens or fears weighing you down that you were unaware of.
When we are under pressure it can be hard to make decisions, even about something simple. Our minds may be so full of chatter or fog that we feel we just don't have enough space or time to make the right choice, we start doubting ourselves and overthinking.
Dealing with uncertainty on your own can be daunting and emotional as it is releasing stress and fears that you may have carried around for a long time. Our aim together is to make you a priority, to use the space to think, to be heard and to have time for yourself to be able to make decisions and even changes.
